A man on a mission

With deep sadness we bid farewell to Ueli Breitschmid, who passed away during the night of June 1, 2025, at the age of 79 after a long illness. Ueli was passionate, energetic, often provocative – but above all, a visionary and charismatic entrepreneur. His tireless curiosity, boldness, and empathy made him truly unique. He shaped Curaden AG into what it is today: a global pioneer in oral health.

At just 21, he joined the company founded by his father Hans Breitschmid in 1954. In the early 1970s, he founded Curaden AG and launched the Curaprox brand. With the principle “Health begins in the mouth,” he established the iTOP prevention program, now taught to dental professionals worldwide. Prevention before treatment – that was his mission.

His entrepreneurial courage – including in-house production and new distribution strategies – led to lasting success. Today, Curaden is active in 94 countries and remains a healthy, growing family business.

Until shortly before his passing, Ueli was in his office every morning – driven not by duty, but by love for his life’s work. He leaves behind his wife Erika and his four daughters Christine, Laura, Nora, and Carla – and a legacy marked by innovation, courage, and humanity.

His vision lives on. The company is now led by his daughter Christine Breitschmid, ensuring that his values continue into the future. Based on a new strategy, the enduring family-owned company will continue to grow and flourish in the coming years – together with, and thanks to, friends, partners, and allies all over the world.
